Best Multi-time zone watch Vacheron Constantin adds yet another feather to its cap by winning the exclusive “Best Multi-time zone watch” award at the recently held Middle East Premier Watches, Jewellery and Pens Awards in Bahrain. The prestigious awards which brought to the fore exclusive watches, fine writing instruments and glittering jewellery were judged by an influential committee of experts in the arena and through online public voting. Held alongside the Jewellery Arabia 2011 exhibition, the event is in its seventh year and was attended by a distinguished cross section of invite only high profile guests from the industry.  A regular occurrence at the Jewellery Arabia exhibition, the awards hosted by the Arabian Watches and Jewellery magazine bring to the forefront top names of the industry for their creativity and dedication; it is, simply put, a culmination of a professional and independently conducting process that decides on the ultimate winners in pre-determined categories from the sparkling world of watches, jewellery and pens.
The winning timepiece, the Patrimony Traditionelle World Time by Vacheron Constantin, marks the return to the collection of a complication that has its roots tied to the history of the Geneva-based manufacturer. Establishing a strong presence the world over, Vacheron Constantin introduced its first timepieces endowed with an international time mechanism in 1932. Perfecting this art, the Patrimony Traditionelle World Time consists of an indication of 37 time zones and is as absolute as one could envisage and boasts of three dials; a sapphire dial with unique day/night shading; a metal dial with a “Lambert projector” type map and a metal chapter ring. Beating at a frequency of 4Hz or 28,800 vibrations per hour and accompanied by a 40-hour power reserve, the mechanical self-winding Calibre 2460WT drives the display of the hours, minutes and central seconds of World Time. Enabling simultaneous read-off of the time in all regions of the world and day/night indication provided by the central world map, the exceptional technological prowess of the chronometer is evident and it proves that there is no other timepiece more deserving of this award.
