Dubai the destination of the year
The Middle East emerged the big winner with the biggest players within the British travel industry, who named Dubai the destination of the year and Emirates the airline
of the year at a major gala event held in London.
The best in the UK travel trade gathered at the Leicester Square Odeon Cinema Tuesday night to fete the most innovative and outstanding players in the industry at the TTG Travel Awards 2013.
New categories added this year include Luxury Travel Agent of the Year, which went to Carrier Travel, which also took the award in the category of Luxury Tour Operator of the Year.
Dubai-based Emirates has enjoyed a banner year in 2013, also taking home the coveted title of Airline of the Year at the World Airline Awards in Paris this summer.
Judging of the TTG travel awards is weighed 50/50 between travel agents and TTG judges.

Destination of the Year: Dubai Department of Tourism and Commerce Marketing
Hotel and Resort Operator of the Year: Riu Hotels & Resorts
Specialist Cruise Line of the Year: Silversea
Cruise line of the year: Norwegian Cruise Line
