Moroccan Minister of Tourism Lahcen Haddad Morocco is targeting new international tourism markets such as the Gulf countries, Eastern Europe and Latin America, by diversifying and consolidating the infrastructure sector, which represents 8.5 pc of the GDP, Minister of Tourism , Lahcen Haddad told U.S.
satellite television channel “CNN”. To achieve this objective and the threshold of 16 million tourists by 2020, the Minister stressed the need “to increase air transport capacity to Morocco,” noting that the Kingdom, which ranked 4th among the most popular Arab-Muslim destinations, boasts modern airport infrastructure to achieve this goal.
The minister said Morocco aims to target Russian, Polish and Gulf markets, as well as countries in West Africa and Latin America.
