There’s nothing like celebrating . On March 17, join the party, wear your shamrock with pride, and turn the world green for a day! Each year on Ireland’s National Day, cities and people across the globe deck themselves out in forty shades of green, and the Global Greenings illuminate over 180 iconic international landmarks to match. The four-day festival in Dublin, hailed by Lonely Planet as the “mother of all Irish festivals”, is a whirlwind of traditional music, dance, street theatre and food, as well as a stellar parade complete with award-winning performers. Dingle in County Kerry kicks things off with the earliest parade at 6am and from then it’s non-stop! Free parades and carnivals take place in almost every city, town and village, with Armagh, Cork, Belfast, Galway and Derry~Londonderry hosting tens of thousands of celebrators. So why not take advantage of Ireland’s hundred thousand welcomes and join in the festivities this Ireland’s National Day?
