The McLaren MP4-12C
McLaren Automotive on Saturday confirmed that its long-awaited first model, the MP4-12C, will make its Middle East debut at this year's Dubai International Motor Show.
Visitors to the show at the Dubai International
Exhibition and Convention Centre from November 10-14, will be among the first in the region to see the MP4-12C.
In a region renowned for its love of the best that the automotive world has to offer, the 12C and future models from the new McLaren Automotive range are likely to make a major impact on the local market.
A high-performance two-seat mid-engine model in the core sports car market segment, ranging between $225,000 and $250,000, the 12C is pure McLaren featuring no carryover parts from any other car.
When it comes to power, the 12C is equipped with a bespoke McLaren 'M838T' 3.8 litre, V8 twin-turbo engine producing around 600bhp, and taking it from 0 to 100kph in just 3.1 seconds, and on to a top speed of 330kph.
Ian Gorsuch, McLaren Automotive's regional director for the Middle East, Africa and Asia Pacific, said: "The Middle East is a key market for McLaren Automotive and being at the Dubai International Motor Show reinforces our commitment to the region.
"McLaren Automotive's Middle East team and our regional retail partners are looking forward to showing off the 12C to the many customers who have already placed a deposit, as well as to the passionate car fans who have already heard so much about our highly anticipated debut model," Gorsuch added.
As well as showrooms in Dubai and Abu Dhabi, which are scheduled to open later this year and will be operated by Al Habtoor Motors, the company's regional network includes retailers in Bahrain (Al Ghassan Motors), Kuwait (Ali Alghanim & Sons Automotive), Qatar (Dana Motors) and Saudi Arabia (Al Ghassan Motors). There will also be a service centre in Lebanon (Saad & Trad Sal).
