Abu Dhabi Investment Authority (ADIA) has issued a decision obliging all students seconded for pursuing studies overseas to complete national service before traveling abroad.
The decision, which covers students who graduated from high school with a score of 90 percent and higher, is aimed at facilitating overseas secondment, ensuring that students get maximum benefit from national service, furthering the values of loyalty, sacrifice and responsibility and immunising these students from subversive religious ideology before they pursue their university studies and careers.
The National Service and Reserve Authority (NRSA) described ADIA's decision as an optimal one that serves the interests of nationals.
It thanked ADIA for the positive move and the other relevant authorities for playing an active part in the success of the national service project.
