Dubai Cares has called on the UAE community to support the organisation's ‘We Can Teach Each Other' Ramadan campaign 2015 by advocating and donating towards education.
The campaign, which was launched to emphasise the abundance of talent and resourcefulness amongst children in developing countries, is a call to action to the international community to empower underprivileged children around the world by providing them with access to quality education.
Speaking about the support that the campaign is receiving this year, Tariq Al Gurg, Chief Executive Officer of Dubai Cares said, "‘We Can Teach Each Other' is a campaign that promotes a powerful message: children have a natural inclination to learn and we have a responsibility to develop that. Education offers children the tools to grow these skills and emerge as successful creators, innovators or scientists, who can facilitate strong change. From the level of support we have received so far, the UAE community is fully in tune with this message. We have received resounding support from organisations as well as individuals, and we urge more contributors to consider education as a worthwhile cause to support this Ramadan."
Dubai Cares has instituted a number of installations across the city to garner community support. Furthermore, the organisation has also activated donation via SMS and digital platforms to enable residents to contribute during the holy month. Retail outlets as well as hospitality brands have come on board as partners in raising funds for Dubai Cares' programs in the developing world.
Dubai Cares has also organised mobile and digital platforms such as SMS donations by sending the word "donation" to 9030, 9090, 9300, 9600 and 9900 to donate Dh 30, Dh 90, Dh 300, Dh 600 or Dh 900 respectively through the official telecom partner Etisalat. The organisation's website also allows for online donations whilst Champion Cleaners will donate Dh 1 to Dubai Cares for every "like" on their Facebook page.
