H.H. Dr. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed Al Qasimi, Supreme Council Member and Ruler of Sharjah and President of American University of Sharjah (UoS) today attended the signing of an agreement on establishing the Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Saeed Al Qassimi Professorship Chair at the university.
The AED5-million agreement was signed by Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Saeed Al Qassimi, a businessman, and Dr. Hamid Al Nuaimi, Acting Chancellor of the University of Sharjah.
The donation for the new professorship chair will be used by UoS to enrich its researches in the fields of humanities, sociology and social development.
During the meeting, H.H. Sheikh Sultan had friendly exchanges with Al Qassimi on higher education in the region as well as on ways of developing the sector.
Previously, Mohammed bin Ahmed bin Saeed Al Qassimi donated 13 apartments worth AED15 million as an endowment for University of Sharjah in support of its Sharia researches.
