Emirati women creating a stronger socio-economic fabric
London - Arabstoday

Emirati women creating a stronger socio-economic fabric The economy of a nation grows at its strongest from the grass roots and the more the shoots in the soil, the better the result. So it is heartening, and also significant, to note that 35 per cent of the SMEs (small and medium-sized enterprises) growth nurtured by the Khalifa Fund comprises Emirati women, a local daily commented yesterday.
This brings home two strong messages: One, Emirati women are steadily making a mark in a domain that was traditionally dominated by men, thereby creating a stronger socio-economic fabric. And two, this level of participation is boosting the health of the UAE's indigenous economy, as SMEs are key for a country to reach its full economic potential, the Gulf News said in its editorial titled, "Emirati women make a mark in entrepreneurship".
In encouraging Emirati women to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams, the Khalifa Fund is also urging them to diversify in their endeavours by opting for novel and innovative fields of businesses, which will help make market reality truly versatile. In this regard, the capital hosting the Abu Dhabi Entrepreneurship Forum from October 7-9, the first event of its kind, will act as a springboard to launch a new phase in the lives of Emirati youth, who are raring to play an integral part in UAE's development.
