Sheikha Lubna bint Khalid Al Qasimi, Minister of International Cooperation and Development, MICAD, and Head of the UAE Committee for the Coordination of Humanitarian Foreign Aid, has reaffirmed that the efforts of the UAE under the directives of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President and Prime Minister and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum and His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, to support the aspirations of the peoples of developing countries to respond to the victims of humanitarian crises, have become important work for all humanitarian organisations and UAE donors.
During her meeting with Lilianne Ploumen, Netherlands Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Cooperation, Sheikha Lubna said there is an urgent need to promote the development indications in the world that enhance human development and support the capacity of individuals in developing countries and poor communities through directing aid mainly in the fields of education, health and basic services, as well as strengthening the international response to humanitarian crises and disasters.
Al Qasimi commended the relations between the UAE and the Netherlands in various fields of partnership, particularly at the level of mutual cooperation, and their identical views towards the support of international development issues and to respond to the humanitarian crises, as well as supporting international community efforts in this regard, to enhance the pace of development and to provide an umbrella for those homeless affected by conflicts and natural disasters and to support the humanitarian response to the risk of the spread of diseases in various countries that lack the elements of health care.
The meeting covered aspects of cooperation and promoting joint action as well as the exchange of experiences and cadres in the fields of international development. The meeting also reviewed important issues on international development and the humanitarian arena.
The Netherlands Minister praised the UAE's efforts and contributions in the fields of international development, and its support for the ability of developing nations to achieve at the same time a leading advanced indicators leading in terms of economic development and the development of civilisation, and the opening to the foreign world, thus strengthened its position in the Middle East.
