H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, met with Jens Stoltenberg, Secretary-General of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation, NATO, yesterday in the Belgian capital, Brussels.
During the meeting, the parties reviewed means of boosting cooperation relations between NATO and the UAE as well as discussing a number of issues of common concern.
Sheikh Abdullah stressed the UAE's interest in developing cooperation with NATO in various fields to enhance security, regional and international peace and providing better ways for the exchange of technical and defence expertise as well as developing technical training programmes and take advantage of NATO's expertise in training and information exchange.
The Secretary-General of NATO welcomed the visit of His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed to Belgium, saying that the UAE contributed greatly in maintaining security and peace with NATO.
The meeting was attended by Mohammed Issa Abushahab AlSuwaidi, UAE Ambassador to the Kingdom of Belgium, and Saeed Obaid Mohammed Al Kaabi, UAE Permanent Representative to NATO.
