H.H. Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, last night attended a ceremony held in Abu Dhabi on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of the establishment of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, ASEAN.
On the occasion, Sheikh Abdullah extended his congratulations to the Association of Southeast Asian Nations, stressing that the UAE is keen to strengthen its bilateral relations with ASEAN countries in various fields.
He stressed that in light of the close political ties between the UAE and ASEAN countries, and the growing development of trade, economic and cultural relations, the UAE is looking forward to developing these relations to greater horizons and forging diversified and sustainable partnerships that serve both sides' future and benefit their countries and peoples.
"The UAE believes in the importance of ASEAN's role in promoting regional and international security and peace," H.H. Sheikh Abdullah added.
