Parliament Chairman Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Dhahrani described the keynote speech of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa as historic which enlightens the reform path to bring about more achievements for Bahraini citizens. He said the proposals for constitutional amendments which arose from the National Consensus Dialogue visions make up the traits of reform Bahrainis long for.This, he added, confirms continuity of the reform process in the kingdom which is spearheaded by HM the King.Al Dhahrani stressed that the constitutional amendments will be a priority in the parliamentary deliberations after receiving the royal decree which will be issued later in this regard. He pledged to exert all efforts to make the key amendments even if there is a need to prolong the legislative term.He hailed cooperation between the executive and legislative powers which has yielded many accomplishments.He explained that the amendments which will broaden the scope of the parliament's prerogatives will magnify the responsibility of MPs to achieve citizens' aspirations. He also lauded the royal call on citizens to hold on to national unity to bolster the nation's growth, security and stability.He stressed social responsibility to stop legal violations and shore up national cohesion by shunning all forms of anarchy.
