Albania's Minister of Agriculture Genc Ruli praised contributions of Kuwait Fund For Arab Economic Development (KFAED) in infrastructural projects, especially in irrigation, sanitation and other sectors, noting the aid contributed to upgrading utilities in the country. During a meeting with Kuwaiti Ambassador to Albania Najib Abdulrahman Al-Bader, Ruli expressed keenees on expanding areas of cooperation between Albania and Kuwait to include agriculturw, by utilizing potentials of both countries in this field, particularly in relation to livestock and plants. Furthermore, Ruli revealed importance of initiating steps aimed at achieving aspirations of both countries in this field, starting with exchange of visits and expertise that will contribute to drawing up plans for agricultural cooperation. He also expressed confidence in existence of opportunities that should be utilized to serve interests of peoples of the two states. On his part, Ambassador Al-Bader stressed on keeness to devote efforts to serve common interests for promotion of mutual cooperation. The agricultural sector in Albania covers 18 percent of the gross national product. About half of the Albanian population (four million people) lives in rural areas.
