Algerian Foreign Minister Ramtane Lamamra is to embark on an Arab tour that will take him to several countries, including Egypt, Jordan and Iraq, Al-Fajre newspaper out Thursday reported. The tour is meant to strengthen Algeria's relations with the these countries and prepare for Geneva 2 conference on Syria. Algeria is to present a solution to the nearly three-year crisis in Syria that will preserve the sovereignty of the state and materialize people's aspirations. Lamamra's Egypt visit aims at mirroring good relations binding the two countries especially after reports on Algeria being behind the African Union decision to suspend Egypt's membership, the paper said. The Algerian minister was keen at a seminar here on Monday, that was attended by his Egyptian counterpart Nabil Fahmi, to make clear that Algeria has nothing to do with the AU decision and that freezing Egypt's membership was meant to encourage Egypt to return quickly to constitutional path.
