Director General of the Arab Women Organization (AWO) Mervat el Tellawi on Monday chaired a session of a symposium hosted by the Faculty Economics and Political Science on Egypt's contribution to the United Nations activities in 2016.
Tellawi said the females suffer more than the males from the problem of climate change.
She added that Egypt has been a pioneer in addressing the problem of climate change by an initiative in 1993.
The AWO chief said the developing countries, especially the Arab ones did not make the needed efforts towards achieving the eight goals of sustainable development before the announcement of the seventeen development goals.
She added that AWO prepared 24 researches on the objectives of the sustainable development and the role of women to achieve them.
