Azhar Sheikh to address Egyptian people on Eid al-Fitr

Al-Azhar Grand Imam Dr. Ahmed Al-Tayyeb, will address the Egyptian people and the Arab and Islamic nations on the occasion of the end of the holy month of Ramadan and the beginning of Eid al-Fitr, expected to take place on Thursday. The Grand Imam is scheduled to give a televised address on the occasion on Sunday evening during which he will urge Egyptians to be united and overcome the difficulties they face. The Imam has already addressed messages to the nation on a number of occasions in the past period calling for national reconciliation and renouncing violence.
