His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa paid today an inspection visit to Salmaniya Medical Complex (SMC) where he met senior Health Ministry officials and inaugurated the new Intensive Care Unit (ICU) building.He called to further develop the medical profession and maintain Bahrain's advanced level in health and medical care.He stressed the government's unflinching support to the health sector, pointing out its keenness to take into consideration the interests of all parties in implementing its strategy.He urged to carry out the state's policies in providing healthcare without compromising patients and doctors' rights. He directed to further optimize health services by providing the latest equipment and best expertise, paying tribute to the medical staff who dedicate themselves to the service of the nation and people in all time.He voiced the government's resolve to continue the efforts to further upgrade medical services in Bahrain according to the latest international standards in this respect.He said the government is keen to remove all obstacles to developing the health sector by supporting it with a well-qualified staff, outfitting hospitals and health centres with the needed equipment and medicines as well as building more establishments to ensure people in Bahrain have access to the best services.After inaugurating the Intensive Care Unit, HRH the Prime Minister toured its departments and got updated on their cutting-edge equipment.He also listened to an account by those in charge of the unit on the services it provides.HRH the Premier directed the Health Ministry to carry on with the health projects included in the government's blueprint and further optimize health services in terms of treatment, care and rehabilitation.He affirmed that all rights are protected and that laws are put in place to organize and streamline procedures for citizens and not to complicate things. He also urged to ensure citizens receive the best and fastest services.On his part, Deputy Prime Minister Jawad bin Salim Al-Arayadh commended HRH the Prime Minister's distinguished efforts in developing the health sector in Bahrain.He said the kingdom has been able to achieve a remarkable progress in healthcare thanks to the government's policies spearheaded by HRH the Premier.He also pointed out the availability of quality medical services across Bahrain.Health Minister Sadaq bin Abdulkarim Al-Shehabi extended heartfelt thanks and gratitude to HRH the Prime Minister for the visit, lauding his close follow-up to ensure the best health services are provided for the people in Bahrain.He also praised HRH the Premier directives to separate private medicine from public medicine at the Health Ministry, pledging to carry out the project with the needed flexibility.
