United Nations Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon has contacted President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko, reiterating the urgent need for redoubling political and diplomatic efforts toward a peaceful resolution.
Ban, in the contact late on Wednesday, told Poroshenko he continued "to follow the crisis in Ukraine closely and with increasing concern," his press office said.
He also expressed the hope that there be tangible progress in implementing President Poroshenkoآ’s peace plan.
In regards to the humanitarian situation, Ban offered the support of the United Nations, in coordination with international partners.
