The Special Adviser to the United Nations Secretary-General on Yemen, Jamal Benomar, has condemned the horrific shelling of a funeral gathering in Al Dhale province on Friday, 27 December. The shelling resulted in the death of at least 19 people, including children. In a statement to Saba, Benomar extended his sincere condolences to the victims’ families. Benomar expressed serious concern that the attack is being attributed to government armed forces. He welcomed the investigation into the attack by the authorities and called for the perpetrators to be brought to justice.
