Berdymukhamedov wins Turkmenistan's election for third term

The Turkmenistan Central Election Commission has announced that President Gurbanguly Berdymukhamedov has secured a third term in office by winning 80 percent of the vote in elections held yesterday.
The commission said that 3,067,924 people out of a possible 3.4 million electorate voted for Berdymukhamedov, noting that the voter-turnout was good.
