Governor of the Central Bank of Egypt Tarek Amer held a series of meetings in Washington with representatives of the the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to discuss ways of attracting more foreign investments to Egypt.
Talks covered the latest world economic and political developments and their impact on the national economy.
A statement by the bank said Amer, currently in Washington to attend the spring meetings of the IMF, will meet with representatives of investment and development banks, including officials of Standard Chartered, City Bank, Bank of America, Merrill Lynch, Goldman Sachs and the African Bank for Development.
Amer will give a lecture at Colombia University on the pivots of economic reform in Egypt that run in parallel with structural reforms the government adopted.
