Foreign minister Sameh shoukry
Cairo - Arab Today

Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will travel to Washington on Sunday on a three-day visit to the United States, which is aimed to boost the bilateral ties and discuss a number of issues of common concern, a spokesman said on Saturday.

During the visit, Shoukry will hold meetings with US Secretary of State John Kerry, heads and members of the intelligence and military services committees of the Congress and US National Security Adviser Susan Rice, Foreign Ministry Spokesman Ahmed Abu Zeid said.

The top diplomat will also give interviews to US National Public Radio (NPR), The Washington Post and The Wall Street Journal along with a number of US research centers, Abu Zeid added.

The visit comes in an important timing as Egypt has just completed its political roadmap with the election of the new House of Representatives, he added.
