Egyptian Prime Minister Sherif Ismail arrived here on Wednesday leading a ministerial delegation to take part in the first meeting of the Egyptian-Saudi Coordination Committee.

The Egyptian premier was welcomed at King Khaled Airport by Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir, Minister of State Essam bin Said, Saudi Assistant Defense Minister Mohammad bin Abdullah el Ayesh and Saudi Chief of Staff Abdel Rahman bin Saleh Al-Bonyan.

Ismail is accompanied by a high-profile delegation including Defense Minister Sedqi Sobhi, Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry, Minister of Electricity Mohammad Shaker, Investment Minister Ashraf Salman, Housing Minister Mostafa Madbouli, Minister of International Cooperation Sahr Nassr and Petroleum Minister Tareq el Mulla.

The Saudi delegation to the meetings will group Saudi Deputy Crown Prince, Second Deputy Premier and Minister of Defense Prince Mohammad Bin Salman, a number of ministers and senior Saudi officials.

The Egyptian premier, for his part, described such meetings as very important as they come as part of the distinguished and growing relations binding the two countries.

The first meeting of the Egyptian-Saudi Coordination Committee has been agreed on by President Abdel Fattah El Sisi and Prince Mohammad Bin Salman during the latter's recent visit to Cairo.

The meeting is scheduled to witness an agreement on the blueprints of a number of agreements in several fields of cooperation, especially that Saudi Arabia is the first trade partner of Egypt and the biggest investor in Egypt.

The coordination committee aims at pushing ahead bilateral relations and expanding the volume of trade exchange.
