Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry arrived here on Wednesday as part of an overseas tour that has taken him to Tunisia and France so far.
Shoukry will meet his Russian counterpart Sergey Lavrov on Thursday for talks on the situation in the holy city of Al Quds in light of continued Israeli provocations and diggings under AL Aqsa Mosque.
Talks will also tackle Egyptian-Russian cooperation and preparations for the economic conference in Sharm el Sheikh in March.
During the Moscow visit, Shoukry will also lead a delegation of the Organization of the Islamic Cooperation (OIC) liaison committee that will talk with Russian officials on efforts to resume Palestinian-Israeli negotiations based on agreed-upon references.
The delegation includes the foreign ministers of Palestine and Guinea and the OIC chief.
