Former foreign minister and MP Mohamed el Orabi visited Democratic Republic of Congo to confer on boosting bilateral ties in the different domains, Egypt's Ambassador in Congo Hani Salah said.
This comes in light of the importance of the Egyptian-Congolese relations, he said.
Orabi met with Congolese Senate speaker, House speaker and head of the foreign relations committee in the Senate, Salah said in a statement published by the Foreign Ministry on Facebook.
He discussed with the Congolese officials means to promote parliamentary ties and the possibility to establish a parliamentary friendship group between Egypt and Congo as soon as possible, Salah said.
On the other hand, Orabi met with the Congolese president's political and military advisers where he asserted that Egypt is playing an important role in combating terrorism, Salah added.
