Chief Palestinian negotiator Saeb Erekat said the US has not posted is on its ongoing efforts to revive the Palestinian-Israeli peace talks. In statements to Voice of Palestine on Sunday, Erekat said "We want these efforts to reap their fruit to end the Israeli occupation of the Palestinian territories." He said "we are doing our best with the US, China and Arab countries to attain this goal." He said the US has not announced any plans for ending the Israeli occupation and talks about economic peace are mere speculations. Meanwhie, he noted that Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas will tackle during his visit to China - due to start on Sunday - the file of ending the Israeli occupation. Erekat denied again that there is no plans for Abbas' meeting with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu in Beijing. Concerning the hubbub about a limited Palestinian-Israeli land swap proposal, Erekat said the proposal was presented to us in 2008, but the Palestinian side said talks about this offer is possible after establishing a Palestinian state. The proposal was meant to put the ball in Netanyahu's court to prod him into saying "I accept establishing a Palestinian state on the 1967 borders with a land swap," he will not say this, Erekat added.
