Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry on Thursday presided over a meeting of the board of the Egyptian Agency of Partnership for Development (EAPD) to review the agency's strategy, its goals, activities and mechanisms of action.
Official Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said the meeting tackled EAPD's current activities and new proposals as well as some projects which aim at honing the skills of cadres in African countries in all domains.
Shoukry underlined the important role the agency plays in helping Africans through the transfer of expertise to African countries in all sectors, according to Abu Zeid.
The foreign minister said Egypt is keen on activating the country's role in Africa following the June 30 revolution, said the spokesman.
The agency begins work on July 1, 2014 in line with a Cabinet decision No. 959 for the year 2013 with the intent of merging the Egyptian Fund for Technical Cooperation with Africa with the Egyptian Fund for Cooperation with the countries of the Commonwealth in one entity in a move meant to unify efforts and resources.
