Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry will head for the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa on Monday evening to attend a joint meeting of the high-level African committee about Libya and Libya's neighboring countries group.

Spokesman for the Foreign Ministry Ahmed Abu Zeid said in statements that Shoukry will attend the meeting on behalf of President Abdel Fattah el Sisi.

The meeting will convene at the level of the summit at the African Union's premises and under the auspices of the Chadian president, the current chair of the AU, he added.

The gathering will bring together members of the committee including South Africa, Gabon, Ethiopia, Niger and Mauritania and countries neighboring Libya which include Egypt, Sudan, Chad, Algeria, Niger and Tunisia along with Libya, Uganda and the Republic of Congo, according to the spokesman.

Abu Zeid said the Egyptian participation aims at presenting the Egyptian vision on dealing with conditions in Libya and supporting Arab, African and international efforts to achieve stability and re-build state institutions in the country.
