Executive Chief of the General Authority for Investment and Free Zones (GAFI) Mohamed Khodeir inaugurated an exhibition held on the sidelines of the Global African Investment Summit, currently in session in Kigali, Rwanda.
Khodeir, accompanied by Egypt's Ambassador to Rwanda Namira Negm, welcomed Rwandan President Paul Kagame and Ugandan President Yoweri Museveni at the GAFI pavilion, according to a statement issued by GAFI on Tuesday.
The Rwandan president expressed happiness over Egypt's participation in the summit and stressed support for efforts to promote trade and investment among the African nations.
Khodeir asserted the Egyptian government's keenness on developing economic and investment relations with Africa out of belief in the importance of constant integration and cooperation among all the African governments in order to reach sustainable development across the African continent.
Egypt seeks to reach real partnership among the African nations particularly in light of available potentials which will reflect positively on the African peoples, he added.
The GAFI chief has taken part in the opening session of the summit on Monday with the participation of the heads of state of Rwanda and Uganda, the secretary general of the COMESA and more than 1,000 participants from the public and private sectors from the COMESA, SADC and the EAC blocs along with a large number of investors.
