The Arab League will bestow the "Arab League Shield for Leadership in Arab Development" upon His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa at its headquarters here tomorrow, in recognition of his contributions to the development field, pioneering role in the comprehensive modernisation and renaissance witnessed by Bahrain, as well as for his constant support to all efforts aimed at enhancing joint Arab Action.
HRH Premier's honouring has been widely welcomed by Arab political, intellectual, cultural and academic circles.
The grand ceremony, during which Arab League Secretary-General Ahmed Abul-Gheit will confer the Arab Development Shield on HRH the Prime Minister, in the presence of big number of prominent Arab political, intellectual, cultural, literature, media and academic figures, is considered an honouring for the kingdom for the pioneering achievements it has attained under its leadership which strived to strengthen the pillars of an advanced and modern country.
The Prime Minister's honouring will also shed light on Bahrain's comprehensive sustainable development model which has been admired and appreciated by many relevant international and regional institutions.
The prestigious shied granted to HRH the Prime Minister by the all-inclusive "Home of Arabs" reflects the Arab League's appreciation of landmark development achievements which are the source of pride at the Arab level, given the fact that the Prime Minister always backs everything that enhances Arab solidarity, joint action and unity so as to be able to deal with all challenges that pose a threat to Arab national unity and stability.
Prominent Arab political, intellectual and media figures agreed that HRH the Prime Minister is an Arab role model who deserves to be honoured by the Arab League for his decades-long efforts to develop Bahrain in various fields.
They also asserted that his honouring by the Arab League will inspire the new generations to be dedicated for the sake of their countries' progress.
