King Abdullah II left for New York on Thursday to take part in the 70th session of the UN General Assembly meetings, according to a statement by the Royal Diwan.
King Abdullah will address the UNGA on the situation in the kingdom and regional challenges and will hold talks with a number of participating heads of state and delegations.
The Jordanian monarch will also take part in a summit hosted by US President Barack Obama on efforts to face extremism, terrorism and terrorist groups in the world.
Meanwhile, Jordanian Prince Faisal ben Hussein was sworn in as Regent in the presence of Cabinet.
