Pursuant to the provisions of Article 28 of Law-Decree 14/2002 on the Exercising of the Political Rights and upon reviewing the records of the Election Supervisory Committees, the Minister of Justice, Islamic Affairs and Endowments Shaikh Khalid bin Ali Al Khalifa, Head of the High Committee Overseeing the Integrity of the Elections, today announced the final results of the first round parliamentary and municipal elections conducted on November 24 all over the Kingdom’s governorates, as follows:
FIRSTLY: Parliamentary Elections:
1-The Capital Governorate: The first constituency was won by Adel Abdulrahman Assoumi. A second round will be held in the second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth and tenth constituencies.
2-Muharraq Governorate: The fourth constituency was won by Issa Abduljabbar Mahmoud Alkooheji. A second round will be held for the first, second, third, fifth, sixth, seventh and eight constituencies.
3-The Northern Governorate: The second and sixth constituencies were won by Fatima Abbass Mohammed Qassim and Abdulnabi Salman Ahmed Nasser, respectively. A second round will be held for the first, third, fourth, fifth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth constituencies.
4-The Southern Governorate: The third, eighth and tenth constituencies were won by Ahmed Yousef Mohamed Abdulqader Al Ansari,Fowzia Abdullah Yousef Zainal, Mohamed Ibrahim Ali Mohanna Al Seesi Al Buainain, Issa Yousef Abdullah Mohammed Al Dosari, respectively. SECONDLY: Municipal Elections:
Pursuant to the provisions of Article 27 of Law Decree 35/2002 regulating the Municipal Councils Elections, the minister also announced the municipal elections results as announced by the respective Supervisory Committees:
1-Muharraq Governorate: The second, sixth and eighth constituencies were won by Hassan Farouq Hassan Al Douy, Fadhil Abbass Hassan Ahmed Al Oud and Abdulaziz Thamir Khalifa Hazza Al Kaabi. A second round will be held in the first, third, fourth, fifth and seventh constituencies.
2-The Northern Governorate: The second constituency was won by Badriya Ibrahim Abdullah Mohammed Abdelhussain. A second round will be held for the first, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, seventh, eighth, ninth, tenth, eleventh and twelfth constituencies.
3-The Southern Governorate: the seventh, eighth and tenth constituencies were won by Abdullah Ahmed Ibrahim Bubshit, Badr Saleh Abdulaziz Al Draib Al Tameemi and Hezzam Ibrahim Mufrej Al Dosari. A second round will be held for the first, second, third, fourth, fifth, sixth, and ninth constituencies.
On this occasion, the minister expressed utmost congratulations to His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa, His Royal Highness Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al Khalifa the Prime Minister and His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince, Deputy Supreme Commander and First Deputy Prime Minister, and the Bahraini people on the success of the national parliamentary and municipal elections first round conducted on November 24, with a participation rate of 67% for the parliamentary polls and almost 70% for the municipal polls, wishing the Kingdom of Bahrain further progress, prosperity and welfare, and wishing the successful candidates God’s assistance in carrying out their mission and trust.
It is worth mentioning that the second round of elections for the undecided parliamentary and municipal seats will take place on Saturday, December 1.
