King Mohammed VI arrived on Sunday in Abidjan, coming from Mali, for a working and friendship visit in Côte d’Ivoire. At the Félix Houphouët-Boigny airport, the King was greeted by Ivorian PM Daniel Kablan Duncan. The King was afterwards greeted by speaker of the National Assembly, the mayor of Port Bouet, the Governor of the District of Abidjan, the President of the Constitutional Council, the President of the Supreme Court, the First Vice President of the Economic and Social Council, the President of the independent Electoral Committee (CIS), the chairman of the Dialogue, Truth and Reconciliation Committee, and the President of the High Authority for good governance. King Mohammed VI was also greeted by senior officers of the Ivorian Armed Forces, Ivorian Ministers of State and government officials, members of Arab and African diplomatic missions accredited in Abidjan, members of the Embassy of Morocco, Moroccan senior officers members of the United Nations Operation in Côte d’Ivoire (UNOCI) and representatives of the Moroccan community in Côte d’Ivoire. The Ivorian PM was greeted by members of the official delegation accompanying the King and which includes mainly advisors of the Sovereign, Taib Fassi Fihri and Fouad Ali El Himma. The delegation comprises also Minister of Foreign Affairs Salaheddine Mezouar, Minister of Islamic Affairs Ahmed Toufiq, Minister of Economy and Finance Mohamed Boussaid, Minister of Agriculture Aziz Akhannouch, Minister for Infrastructure, Transport and Logistics Aziz Rebbah, Minister of Industry, Trade, Investment and Digital Economy Moulay Hafid Elalamy, Minister of Health El Houceine El Ouardi, Minister of Energy Abdelkader Amara and Tourism Minister Lahcen Haddad, as well as Youssef Amrani, Chargé de Mission in the Royal Office. The King is also accompanied by a delegation of businessmen representing the public and private sectors. After a short break at the VIP lounge, the official procession headed for the sovereign’s residence in Abidjan. The Côte d’Ivoire is the second leg of an African tour that took the sovereign to Mali and will take him also to Guinea Conakry and Gabon.
