His Majesty King Abdullah II, the Supreme Commander of the Jordan Armed Force-Army, and US Vice-President Joe Biden attended on Thursday in the presence of the King's Advisor for Military Affairs and Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Mashal Mohammad Zaben, a joint tactical drill that was carried out by the Rapid Response Unit (Desert Eagle) with the participation of US and friendly forces.
The exercise included strategic movement and airborne landing operations in which the participants displayed a high level of precision, combat readiness and fitness.
His Majesty also watched an exhibition for various weapons and equipment used by the unit that help it become a self-sufficient, flexible and highly mobile unit that can carry out its missions in various weather conditions.
King Abdullah praised the high skills and moral of the participants as well as the level of planning and coordination between the participating units.
The US vice-president hailed the distinguished level the Jordan Armed Forces has reached in various fields, as well as the role played by Jordan and its armed forces in confronting terrorism and extremism.
He also highlighted the strong ties between Jordan and the United States, especially in the military field.
