His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, continued visiting more pavilions of international and domestic companies for the third consecutive day at the International Defence Exhibition and Conference (IDEX) 2017, at Abu Dhabi’s National Exhibition Centre (ADNEC).

He met with several delegations, leaders and officials of participating pavilions and was introduced to the main defence, military and civil systems on exhibit, as well as to major creative solutions and future projects to be implemented for various land, air, naval and multiple defence systems.

Discussions took place about the opportunities provided at IDEX, and its importance in strengthening co-operation and in exhibiting and discussing ideas and projects, as well as implementing completed defence systems that support security and stability, and advancing the development and prosperity of all countries.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed welcomed the increasing participation of international companies at IDEX 2017, and their effective and diverse presence in the exhibition’s activities, as well as for providing the latest defence and military systems that answer the demands of regional and world markets.

During the tour, he viewed an amphibious vehicles manufactured by Tornado, which has considerable abilities in defence and security and can cross rough terrain. The vehicle weighs three tonnes and specialises in reconnaissance, scouting and rescue. It can also carry eight passengers and has a 180 horsepower engine.

He then visited the Serbian pavilion, where he listened to the most important demonstrations of armoured vehicles, helicopters, personnel carriers, rockets and small arms by Serbian companies.

He also visited the Sudanese pavilion, where he was received by Lt. General Awad Mohamed Ahmed, Sudanese Minister of Defence, who gave a detailed explanation about the nature of Sudan’s participation and the most important military products made by Sudanese military manufacturers.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed then visited the Saudi Military Industries Corporation (MIC), where he was introduced by the pavilion’s representatives to products such as light weapons, light and medium ammunition, armoured vehicles, military communication devices and scouting drones.

He also toured stands of Serbian, Korean, Chinese, South African, Czech and Russian exhibitors.

He concluded his tour with a visit to the Al Masaood and Al Badie Groups in the outer square, where he saw the latest mechanical, military and multi-purpose vehicles that work in different terrains and circumstances.
