A draft law on the organisation and protection of Aflaj sites listed on the World Heritage List was reviewed by the State Council on Tuesday.
The State Council Office held its sixth meeting of the second annual session of the sixth term under the chair of Dr. Yahya bin Mahfoudh Al Mantheri, Chairman of the State Council.
Besides the draft law on the organisation and protection of Aflaj sites listed on the World Heritage List and the law (Nidham) of the trademarks of the GCC countries referred by the Council of Ministers.
The State Council Office discussed the memorandum of understanding between the State Council and the Senate of Pakistan and a proposal to form a parliamentary friendship committee between the two councils to consolidate the existing relations between the Sultanate and the Islamic Republic of Pakistan.
The meeting reviewed the proposals submitted by honorees members of the Council and reviewed the first two reports on the participation of the Council of Oman in the 12th session of the Parliamentary Union of the OIC member States (PUIC), held in Bamako, capital of the Republic of Mali, from January 23rd to 28th, and the second visit by the Polish parliamentary delegation to the Sultanate during the period from February 7th to 9th,2017.
The Council set the date of the 25th and 26th of next month as the dates of the 7th and 8th regular meetings of the second annual session of the sixth term.
