This came in a news conference held today at the council's premises in the presence of Aref Hamad Al Awani, ADSC Secretary General, and David Kotheimer, Deputy Chief Executive Officer and Chief Operating Officer at HSBC Bank, where it was announced that a galaxy of world top players will take part in the prestigious event, which will be set amidst the Arabian Gulf's most tranquil resort experience.
Up to 126 players will be vying for coveted trophies worth a staggering US$3 million, $300,000 up from the value of the event's 2017 edition.
"The event is yet a new testament to the prominent positioning boasted by Abu Dhabi, as the Championship is one of the world's most sought-after sports events" said Al Awani.
