Deputy PM and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah al-Mahmoud
Doha - QNA

HE Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of State for Cabinet Affairs Ahmed bin Abdullah Al Mahmoud left Doha on Tuesday heading to the Indonesian capital, Jakarta, to represent the State of Qatar in the Asia-Africa Summit 2015, to be held with the participation of leaders from Asian and African countries.

The Summit, to be held in the capital Jakarta on April 22 and 23, will focus on the need to show moral support for the Palestinian people who live under the grip of the Israeli occupation, as well as issues of concern to African and Asian sides, particularly with regard to strengthening the economic partnership.

The Summit will be followed by the commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of the Asian-African Conference (Bandung Conference) that laid the foundation for the non-aligned movement, as well as the 10th anniversary of the New Asian-African Strategic Partnership signed by the Member States in 2005 in Bandung.
