MP Nawar al Sahili gave a speech during the 12th Session of the conference of Parliamentary Union of the member states of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (PUIC) held in Mali's Bamako, whereby he asserted that it was time for political solutions to halt the raging fires in the Middle East and other Islamic countries suffering from terrorism.
A political solution required unanimous agreement over crucial issues from PUIC member states, which could play a positive role on the international arena.
"Lebanon...has offered more than it could handle for Syrian and Palestinian refugees...a thing that rendered the country incapable of developing its economy," said Sahili, urging gatherers to shoulder their responsibilities.
He cautioned that such an unprecedented influx of refugees threatened the existence and stability of all nations.
Sahili also pointed to the Israeli threat as well as the takfirist one.
"The supposed temporary status of Palestinian refugees back in 1948 continues today, despite all UN resolutions," he said as he called for the right of return for Palestinians.
On that note, the MP highlighted the need for the safe return of Syrian refugees as well to their homes.
