Prince Salman bin Sultan, who was recently appointed assistant secretary-general of the National Security Council for security and intelligence affairs, thanked Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Abdullah and Crown Prince Sultan for the appointment. "I am proud of this confidence and I consider it a great responsibility," the prince said and prayed to God to help him carry out his duties in the best manner. Prince Salman, who was born in Dhahran in 1976, holds a bachelor degree in military sciences. He has attended a number of courses in security and intelligence matters. He began his career as a lieutenant in royal air defense force before moving to Washington to work in the military attaché at the Saudi Embassy. The Council of Ministers appointed him as minister plenipotentiary at the Foreign Ministry six years ago.
