Saudi FM Saud al-Faisal to visit Moscow November 21

Saudi Arabian Foreign Minister Saud al-Faisal will visit Moscow on November 21, Foreign Ministry spokesman Alexander Lukashevich said on Thursday, according to TASS.
Al-Faisal is expected to hold talks with Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, Lukashevich said.
“Due to the sharp aggravation of the situation in the Middle East and North Africa, our dialogue and contacts increased considerably. The situation is extremely complicated. The events unfolding there demand the position to be synchronized with the leading regional player — Saudi Arabia,” he said.
Al-Faisal’s visit will be devoted “to the deepened analysis of the development of the situation in hot spots of the Middle East and North Africa — Syria, Libya, Iraq and Yemen.” “There is the need to discuss the Palestinian-Israeli relations, which have evidently deteriorated, and the pace of the talks on Iran’s nuclear program,” Lukashevich said.
“Special attention will be paid to the condition and prospects for bilateral relations. There is much useful mutual experience, and it requires the implementation of a series of projects — in such areas as energy, finance, nuclear power engineering, agriculture and others. We’ll raise the question of strengthening the legal base of bilateral cooperation,” he said.
