Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud arrived this evening in Moscow on a state visit to the Russian Federation at the invitation of President Vladimir Putin.
During the visit, the Saudi leader will hold talks on bilateral relations and means of bolstering joint cooperation, addition to issues of mutual interest.
Chairing the weekly Cabinet last Tuesday, King Salman expressed the hope that his visit to Moscow and talks with President Putin and Russian officials would contribute to strengthening bilateral relations for the sake of joint interests and efforts to achieve international security and stability.
Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov had stressed the importance of the Saudi monarch’s visit which, he said, would contribute to the stability of the Middle East.
Saudi Foreign Minister Adel Al-Jubeir also stressed the significance of the Saudi leader’s historic visit, adding that Moscow and Riyadh are working together to combat terrorism.
