H.H. Sheikh Sultan bin Mohammed bin Sultan Al Qasimi, Crown Prince and Deputy Ruler of Sharjah, today attended the celebration of the Flag Day, which was organised by the Higher Committee of National Day Celebrations in Sharjah.
The ceremony was considered the biggest national gathering to mark the day in the Flag Island in Sharjah, under the theme, 'The UAE of Giving and Generosity'.
Sheikh Sultan Al Qasimi said, "Flag Day is the perfect opportunity to express our pride of all of the accomplishments the UAE has achieved under the wise leadership and guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan and Their Highnesses the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates. The UAE today is an example of tolerance and coexistence, and this day is a testament of the spirit of the union."
"All of the people of the UAE united behind our flag on this day is symbolic of our national values and determination to keep our country leading regionally and internationally," he added.
Khalid Jassim Al Midfa, Chairman of the Higher Committee of National Day Celebrations in Sharjah, said, "The committee has been committed to organise and put together a series of creative and engaging events this year to include all sectors of the UAE's society of both Emiratis and residents alike, in celebrating the many achievements of our country under the guidance of President His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan."
The ceremony was attended by Sheikhs, officials, and dignitaries.
