Supreme Council for Youth and Sport (SCYS) First Deputy Chairman and Head of West Asia Athletics Federation His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa today arrived in South Korea to lead Bahrain’s delegation to the 17th Asian Games, being held in Incheon until October4.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa was received at Incheon Airport by Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC) Secretary-General Abdulrahman Askar, BOC board members Shaikha Hayat bint Abdulaziz Al-Khalifa, Dr. Khalid Al-Alawi and Ali Isa Ishaqi.
Representative of Bahrain Embassy in Beijing, China, Dergham Sobaih, members of the Organising Committee and administrative members of Bahrain’s delegation to the 17th Asian Games were also present at the airport.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al-Khalifa was reassured about the preparations of all national teams, including the Bahrain athletes, scheduled to start its participation in the games tomorrow. He will also attend the Asian games and the athletics competitions which will start tomorrow.
He expressed his hope to achieve outstanding results in the Asian games which would promote Bahrain’s sport, hailing SCYS Chairman HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al-Khalifa for supporting all national teams.
He also urged athletes as well as the technical and administrative staff to spare no efforts to honour Bahrain at the 17th Asian Games.
