Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu discussed with his Turkish counterpart Hulusi Akar on Tuesday in Sochi means to continue joint work on the demilitarized zone in Idleb province and the latest developments of the situations in Syria in general.
Novosti Russian News Agency quoted Shoigu during the meeting as saying “The situation in Syria entails an urgent decision and the discussion of the pressing issues.”
“The momentum which have we reached since signing the documents on Idleb in Sochi needs a support to be able to solve the remaining problems without any delay,” Shoigu added.
Earlier, Syria welcomed the agreement on Idleb Province which was announced in the Russian city of Sochi last September, affirming that it had been the outcome of intensive consultations and full coordination between Syria and the Russian Federation.
