New York - Arab Today

President Abdel Fattah El Sisi will arrive in New York city Thursday to participate in the meetings of the 70th session of the UN General Assembly.

In his address at the opening session, Sisi will tackle the latest political and economic developments in Egypt and the region as well as the anti-terror war.

The UN summit is meant to approve the post-2015 development agenda.

Presidential Spokesman Alaa Youssef said Sisi's speech at the international gathering will reflect Egypt's eagerness to participate in the formulation of the UN development goals over the period from 2015 to 2030.

On the fringe of the UN summit, Sisi will preside over the meetings of the Committee of African Heads of State and Government on Climate Change, the spokesman noted.

The president will partake also in a summit on fighting Daesh and extremism at an invitation from US President Barack Obama.

He will meet also with a raft of heads of US companies and investment funds to brief them on the investment opportunities in Egypt.

Sisi will convene with a large number of prime ministers and heads of state to discuss with them ways of bolstering bilateral relations and issues of mutual concern.

Over 100 heads of state and 50 prime ministers from all over the world will participate in this international gathering.
