A new training and employment centre has been opened at Riffa Social Centre in the Southern Governorate. Labour and Social Development Minister Jameel bin Mohammed Ali Humaidan inaugurated the facility in the presence of MPs Khalifa Al-Ghanim, Mohammed Youssef Al-Maarafi, Mohsin Ali Al-Bakri and Nabeel Abdulla Al-Balouchi.
Southern Municipal Councilor Mohammed Mousa Al-Balouchi, leading community personalities and other ministry officials. The minister held an open meeting with citizens and representatives of civil society organisations and charity societies and heard their remarks on training and employment services. The new centre provides training, employment, guidance for jobseekers, insurance against unemployment in cooperation with the Labour Fund "Tamkeen".
The new training and employment centre has the capacity of accommodating up 1500 applicants monthly. Humaidan highlighted the directives of His Royal Highness Prime Minister Prince Khalifa bin Salman Al-Khalifa to reach out to citizens and assess their needs. He outlined projects in the pipeline – including a complex for social services in Isa Town, featuring a rehabilitation centre for people with physical disabilities, an elderly care home, a pilot social centre and other facilities.
