London - Arabstoday

British Home Secretary, Theresa May will launch an appeal against the decision to allow Abu Qatada to stay in Britain on February 25. Three Court of Appeal judges will hear the challenge of Home Secretary Theresa May to the ruling by the Special Immigration Appeals Commission to refrain from deporting Qatada to Jordan. Qatada, once described as Osama bin Laden's right-hand man in Europe, was convicted of terror charges in Jordan in absentia in 1999, has successfully fought deportation for more than a decade, and has received more than UK £500,000 in legal aid to pay for the fight.
