British Minister of State for Middle East Affairs Topias Ellwood left here on Tuesday winding up a visit to Egypt.
During the visit, Ellwood conferred with Assistant Foreign Minister for European Affairs Ambassador Hatem Seif El-Nassr on means of beefing up bilateral ties in all domains.
The British official voiced his country's backing for Egypt's strenuous efforts to continue its democratic march and appreciated Cairo's efforts in the face of its economic and political challenges.
He also praised the Egyptian measures taken to reinforce security nationwide, prompting the UK government to ease its travel warnings to Egypt.
He also praised Egypt's bid to reach a permanent ceasefire agreement in the Gaza Strip.
